2019

This past September, Joy of Sheer Joy Photography and I headed out to Squamish for a photoshoot!

It was a surprisingly cold day and we found this amazing marsh where the tide was out in front of the mountains. I had created a bouquet with flowers from River and Sea Flowers here on the mainland, as well as some dried and foraged treasures from around Vancouver.

The shoot was great and Joy was amazing at keeping me comfortable in front of the camera, while also giving guidance on how to pose in front of the camera! We finished our shoot and started to make our way back to the path, however the tide had come in during our shoot and we had to do a bit of wading through the water to make it back!

When Joy sent me the gallery, I could not believe how amazing the photos were! As a florist, I am very particular about colours being like they are in real life, as they represent so much of what I pay attention to as a florist. Joy’s photos were exactly the colour of the flowers and she also captured me so well!

The point of this post isn’t really to just gush on how amazing Joy is, but I couldn’t help it with these photos.

She’s a very talented photographer and I highly recommend her!

Camille + Eddy

This beautiful at Bodega Ridge was one of my favourites. From the gorgeous natural setting to the little details, it all came together beautifully.

The local flowers and greens were grown by:

River and Sea Flowers, Twig Twisted and more.

Some of my favourite things I created for this wedding was the floral arbour with the beautiful hanging amaranth (called love lies bleeding) and the colourful cake florals.

Danae + Nate

Danae is one of my best friends and so when she asked me to create for her wedding and said she wanted something super colourful I was overjoyed! Her small intimate and unique wedding was such a beautiful expression of her and her love. The ceremony took place in upside studios and the reception was at Dockside green Cafe Fantastico. I love how much this wedding reflected them and truly was a celebration.

Stephanie and Samuel

I had the pleasure of creating for Stephanie and Sam this past April. Spring is one of my favourite times of year for flowers as there are many beautiful ones such as ranunculus, anemones, icelandic poppies and peonies to name a few. This wedding was no exception. I used locally grown flowers, as always, from the some lovely local farms such as River and Sea Flowers & Busy Bee Farm and Florals. The bride had requested this cascading bouquet, which was my first to create. These photos are from the incredibly talented Rachael Alexandra Co.
