Megan + Ryan

Megan and Ryan had originally planned a beautiful large gathering with friends and family back in April. As you can imagine, due to COVID, they had to make some major changes. They had a very beautiful small backyard ceremony with just those closest to them. It was an honour to still be a part of their wedding day.

Below are a few photos from their wedding day, all taken by Jalen Laine Photographer.

Thank you so much to Megan + Ryan for allowing me to be a part of your day.

This past September, Joy of Sheer Joy Photography and I headed out to Squamish for a photoshoot!

It was a surprisingly cold day and we found this amazing marsh where the tide was out in front of the mountains. I had created a bouquet with flowers from River and Sea Flowers here on the mainland, as well as some dried and foraged treasures from around Vancouver.

The shoot was great and Joy was amazing at keeping me comfortable in front of the camera, while also giving guidance on how to pose in front of the camera! We finished our shoot and started to make our way back to the path, however the tide had come in during our shoot and we had to do a bit of wading through the water to make it back!

When Joy sent me the gallery, I could not believe how amazing the photos were! As a florist, I am very particular about colours being like they are in real life, as they represent so much of what I pay attention to as a florist. Joy’s photos were exactly the colour of the flowers and she also captured me so well!

The point of this post isn’t really to just gush on how amazing Joy is, but I couldn’t help it with these photos.

She’s a very talented photographer and I highly recommend her!

Mairead and Anthony

This wedding was so lovely for many reasons. I went to high school with the groom, and grew to become friends with the bride over the last few years. When we met to talk about flowers for the wedding, the bride had some ideas, but did not know what colour palette to go for, and had just begun to plan and think about various ideas. Together we brainstormed and came up with the colour palette together: mustard yellow, cream, white with touches of emerald green. Not only was it one of my favourite colour palettes, the couple also shared a love for pokemon, pikachu in particular, who just happened to be yellow. The couple also had this wedding completely them as they first spent time connecting with their guests at a happy hour, followed by the ceremony and then the dinner, they wanted it to truly reflect them.

I loved creating for this wedding, from the free standing floral installations for the ceremony, to the ombre bridal bouquet, it was one to remember.

Camille + Eddy

This beautiful at Bodega Ridge was one of my favourites. From the gorgeous natural setting to the little details, it all came together beautifully.

The local flowers and greens were grown by:

River and Sea Flowers, Twig Twisted and more.

Some of my favourite things I created for this wedding was the floral arbour with the beautiful hanging amaranth (called love lies bleeding) and the colourful cake florals.
